The Holiday Cheer of Caring: How Community Makes Youth Transformation Possible
Phoenix, AZ – December 17. 2025.
The holiday season is a time centered on family, connection, and community. It’s a moment to reflect on the relationships that ground us and the care we extend to one another. At New Pathways for Youth (NPFY), this season also reminds us why our mission matters—and how deeply it depends on the collective support of our community.
Founded in 1989, New Pathways for Youth was built on a simple but powerful belief: every young person deserves a safe, stable place to grow, learn, and thrive. For more than three decades, NPFY has remained a steady presence in the lives of Phoenix youth, offering long-term mentoring and holistic support that meets young people where they are and walks with them toward what’s possible.
Long-Term Mentoring That Creates Lasting Change
Our work is both long in reach and deep in impact. At NPFY, transformation is not a quick fix—it is a process. Mentor-youth relationships are designed to last years, not months, because trust takes time. Confidence takes time. Developing a growth mindset takes time, dedication, and care.
Most importantly, it takes a community willing to invest consistently and thoughtfully in young people.
That investment shows up in powerful ways. Youth like Jesús V. remind us what sustained support can make possible:
“Before New Pathways, I kept to myself and lacked confidence. Now, I’m more confident, doing better in school, accepted into my college of choice, and continuing to grow. I feel like a different person.”
Stories like Jesús’s reflect the heart of our mission and the ripple effect of long-term mentoring, stability, and care.
Stewardship at the Heart of Our Work
From the beginning, NPFY has been deeply committed to responsible stewardship. We honor the trust placed in us by donors, partners, and supporters by ensuring every contribution is used intentionally to create meaningful, measurable impact for youth and families.
We are grateful to those who have already included New Pathways for Youth in their end-of-year giving plans. Your generosity sustains the relationships, programs, and support systems that make transformation possible.
If you are still considering a gift, we invite you to explore the many ways to support our mission. Arizona residents can also maximize their impact through the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. A contribution of up to $495 for an individual or $987 for couples filing jointly can be claimed as a dollar-for-dollar credit on your Arizona state taxes when you give to New Pathways for Youth, a recognized Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO).
Looking Ahead With Gratitude
As we look toward the new year, we are excited to continue creating opportunities to connect through information sessions, fundraisers, and community events that strengthen and sustain our work.
As we close our operations for the holiday break from December 21 through January 5, all of us at New Pathways for Youth want to extend our warmest holiday greetings to you and your loved ones. Thank you for walking alongside us, believing in our youth, and being part of a community rooted in care.
We wish you a joyful holiday season and our very best wishes for 2026. We look forward to continuing this work together—transforming the lives of youth by providing the support, stability, and skills they need to flourish in their families and communities.
