Rudolph’s Reindeer Games 2025: A Celebration of Joy, Connection, and Community at New Pathways for Youth
Phoenix, AZ – December 10, 2025
At New Pathways for Youth, the holidays are about more than celebration—they’re about belonging, consistency, and joy in community. This year’s Holiday Party, Rudolph’s Reindeer Games, made possible in part thanks to a grant generously awarded by Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation. This celebration brought the holiday spirit to life in the most meaningful way: through movement, mentorship, family connection, and shared generosity—right in our homebased space, where so much transformation happens every day.
From the moment our youth arrived, the energy was unmistakable. Laughter filled the courtyard. Music echoed through the rooms. Mentors, caregivers, volunteers, and community partners came together to create a day our youth won’t forget—and one that reflected the heart of our mission.
Power, Presence, and the Importance of Showing Up
We began the day with a powerful morning Power Up led by Coach Michael Walker, whose enthusiasm and authenticity set the tone for everything that followed. His message was simple and essential: show up, stay present, and believe in what’s possible through mentorship.
Our Power Ups happen three times each month and serve as a powerful point of connection for youth and mentors, while providing practical life skills and guidance to help our young people face life’s challenges with confidence.
For our youth and mentors, this reminder landed deeply. Transformation doesn’t happen in one moment—it’s built through consistency, trust, and relationships that last.
Movement, Play, and Confidence in Action
Our friends at the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation brought elite-level energy to our homebased space, leading a hip-hop dance lesson in the course room and a free-throw competition on the basketball court. Youth cheered each other on, stepped out of their comfort zones, and experienced confidence through movement and play.
At NPFY, play isn’t extra—it’s essential. Joy builds safety. Safety builds growth.
Food, Family, and the Comfort of Being Cared For
Lunch was great, with tacos, carne asada fries and so many other goodies, fueling the day with warmth and flavor for our more than a 180 guests. In the courtyard, our team led a stocking-making craft station, while the Cox Communications Innovation Lab hosted a friendly video game tournament filled with competition and laughter.
Caregivers and family members were invited to fully take part in the day—not just as attendees, but as active participants in our Caregivers Circle, a program designed to support anyone raising a young person. This gathering reflects our commitment to wraparound services that strive to impact not only the youth we serve, but their families—and by extension, their communities. Each caregiver left with a food box filled with staples and holiday treats, helping ease seasonal stress and extending the care well beyond the event.
Volunteers, Donors, and the Power of Collective Giving
Volunteers from Desert Financial Credit Union helped our youth select gifts to make their holidays extra cozy—an act that may seem simple, but carries deep meaning for teens who don’t always experience abundance during the season.
We are profoundly grateful to every donor who contributed gifts, gift cards, and food items, and to the mentors, volunteers, and staff who showed up with heart, patience, and purpose. Your generosity didn’t just create a party—it created belonging.
Why Celebrations Matter at NPFY
For our youth and families, celebrations are more than events. They are proof points that they matter. They reinforce connection, stability, and the powerful message that community does not disappear when life gets hard.
Rudolph’s Reindeer Games 2025 reminded us that joy is not separate from transformation—it’s part of it.
