Julio Saran Joins New Pathways for Youth as Director of Level Up

Phoenix, AZ, September 10, 2025. 

At New Pathways for Youth, our vision has always been to build a future where every young person can live their life with joy and purpose. That future is shaped by the strength of our programs—and the dedicated leaders who bring them to life. Today, we are thrilled to introduce Julio Saran as the new Director of Level Up, NPFY’s signature one-to-one mentoring program. 

Julio brings over a decade of experience as a bilingual educator, program manager, and arts leader. His career spans roles in youth mentorship, prevention education, and community-centered initiatives, from leading prevention programs to directing large-scale arts events such as community-based festivals and other initiatives. With expertise in trauma-informed care, curriculum development, and community organizing, Julio has consistently championed culturally responsive programming that uplifts youth and families. 

“Julio has dedicated his career to walking alongside young people—helping them unlock their potential and thrive,” said Vanesa Contreras Rodríguez, Vice President of Programs & Impact at NPFY. “His leadership, combined with his passion for mentorship and creativity, will ensure our youth receive the support and opportunities they need to flourish.” 

In addition to his leadership in education and youth development, Julio is also a dance instructor and choreographer, using creative expression as a powerful tool for social-emotional learning. His holistic approach to mentorship—blending structure, creativity, and compassion—aligns seamlessly with the transformative mission of Level Up.
