Nina Franco
Bilingual Youth Enrollment Manager
Alejandrina “Nina” Franco is the Bilingual Youth Enrollment Manager at New Pathways for Youth (NPFY), where she leads the enrollment team in recruiting and screening youth for the Level Up Mentoring Program. Raised in Yuma, Arizona, by Mexican immigrant parents, Nina has skillfully bridged cultural and linguistic worlds, bringing her passion for youth and family empowerment to the forefront of her work.
Nina began her career in education, working as a bilingual Spanish teacher and ESL instructor for seven years. Her experiences working with students from diverse and underserved communities informed her commitment to prioritizing socio-emotional well-being alongside academic achievement. In 2021, Nina joined New Pathways for Youth as the Bilingual Youth Enrollment Coordinator, quickly making an impact by cultivating strong relationships with families and communities. Her dedication and leadership earned her a promotion to Youth Enrollment Manager, where she cultivates team dynamics of shared learning and collaboration, ensuring that the enrollment team thrives.
In addition to leading the recruitment efforts, Nina plays a pivotal role as a facilitator of NPFY’s personal development curriculum at Launches and Power Ups, guiding youth through transformative learning experiences that foster personal growth and resilience. Her work also extends to supporting families as a co-facilitator of Caregivers’ Circle, a support group for parents and caregivers. Through this group, Nina engages in meaningful community discussions, addressing the challenges and successes of raising pre-teens and teens, and connecting families with essential resources.
Nina’s outstanding contributions were recognized when she was named a 2024 YWCA Tribute to Leadership Honoree, celebrating her leadership and dedication to youth and family development. She was also featured in a 12News Arizona segment during the Teen Violence Townhall in Spanish on March 26, where she spoke to reporters about the impact that New Pathways and mentors in the Level Up teen program make in the lives of youth who are confronted with violence and difficult choices in their everyday lives.
With a strong background in education and a passion for community empowerment, Nina remains committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of youth and their families. Her vision for the future is to continue fostering environments where youth can thrive, grow, and realize their full potential.
