Mark Garcia
Director of Curriculum and Training
Mark Garcia’s charismatic personality is infectious, captivating the interest and attention of both adult volunteers and young people as the Director of Training and Curriculum at New Pathways for Youth. In this role, Mark facilitates life skills and personal development workshops as well as mentor training sessions—essential components of New Pathways’ Transformative Mentoring typology, which sets the organization apart from other social and recreational mentoring programs. He also leads the New Pathways Facilitator Training Program, guiding supporters in deeper engagement with the curriculum, exploring their own personal development, and building the facilitation skills needed to co-lead workshops and kickoff events.
A certified Integral Coach, Mark brings his coaching expertise to his work at New Pathways, where he finds deep fulfillment. Before joining New Pathways for Youth, Mark spent nearly fifteen years at The Kroger Company in various roles, including Strategic People Initiative Specialist, Regional Trainer, and Senior HR Field Trainer. He is a self-proclaimed people person, passionate about youth development, coaching, and collaboration. A former supervisor at Kroger praised Mark’s facilitation skills and his ability to engage audiences in an informative and enjoyable manner.
Mark holds a Master of Science in Training and Performance Improvement from Capella University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Arizona State University. His accomplishments include being a member of the Valley Leadership Institute, Class 36, and the 2018 Hispanic Leadership Institute. When he isn’t leading youth in creating new possibilities for their future at the New Pathways for Youth Center, Mark enjoys hiking, playing pickleball, exercising, practicing yoga, watching movies, and traveling.
