John Patris-Browne

Vice President of Philanthropy and Strategy

John Patris-Browne is a dynamic nonprofit leader and strategic philanthropist with over a decade of experience dedicated to driving growth, impact, and transformative change. Currently serving as the Vice President of Philanthropy & Strategy at New Pathways for Youth, John leads efforts that empower underserved youth, helping them unlock their potential through life-changing mentoring programs and community-based initiatives. His expertise lies in crafting long-term strategies that maximize organizational sustainability, donor engagement, and innovative program development.

Prior to his current role, John was the Director of Philanthropy at the Foundation for Senior Living (FSL) in Phoenix, where he led major gift cultivation, donor stewardship, and event management efforts, ensuring critical resources for programs serving seniors and vulnerable communities. His ability to build meaningful relationships and execute high-impact strategies strengthened the organization’s ability to fulfill its mission.

John’s career began at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley, where he spent several years in various capacities across program and development functions. As a passionate advocate for youth, he served as a branch leader, overseeing services for more than 300 young people, while also managing major donor portfolios and fostering partnerships with schools, businesses, and municipalities. His efforts resulted in key collaborations that bolstered support for local communities and expanded opportunities for youth to thrive.

John is deeply committed to civic engagement and volunteerism. He has held board positions with the Phoenix East Rotary, the Balsz Community Education Foundation, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Phoenix Chapter-Professional Mentoring Committee. His leadership in these organizations reflects his belief in the power of community involvement to create lasting positive change. John also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Arizona State University and has completed advanced leadership training through Spillett Leadership University.

Born in Athens, Greece,  John’s family and friends refer to him by his birth name, Yanni. His personal journey fuels his passion for giving back and supporting those in need. He is married to a fellow nonprofit leader who serves as Executive Director for another youth-serving organization. Together, they are raising two children and enjoy a home filled with the joy of two dogs (one of which is a boxer named Cole Beasley) and a guinea pig named Jerry Jones. A dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, John never misses a game and is hopeful that each season will be the one where his beloved team brings home a championship.
