Nov, 2019 – Valley Partnership project benefits New Pathways for Youth

Valley Partnership, an advocacy group for responsible development, held its annual community project on Nov. 2, drawing more than 275 volunteers to paint a giant mural, plant plants, build patio furniture and beautify the new headquarters for New Pathways for Youth near downtown Phoenix.

New Pathways bought the 11,000-square-foot space — double the size of its old location — at 901 E. Jefferson Street in downtown Phoenix, which was formerly home to One Medical, an urgent care facility, over the summer. As part of the community project, Valley Partnership members are encouraged to volunteer as mentors for New Pathways, a mentorship-based program for at-risk youth.

“We are so grateful for all that Valley Partnership has given us through this year’s community project,” said Christy McClendon, president and CEO of New Pathways For Youth, in a statement. “The building improvements they have provided us with, as well as all of the inquiries that poured in to become a mentor, will help us make an impact on the lives of children who need it the most.”
