Celebrating Joy And Community At Our Annual Holiday Party

Phoenix, Az., December 10th, 2024.– On December 7th, New Pathways for Youth gathered for our Annual Holiday Party—a joyous celebration filled with fun, food, and festive cheer. This event wasn’t just for our mentors and youth; we also welcomed parents, caregivers, and family members to share in the holiday spirit.

The evening featured delicious and nutritious food that brought comfort and energy to everyone. The event’s activities were themed around the tradition of Las Posadas, with engaging craft stations for everyone to enjoy. A holiday-themed 360° video booth with props added an extra sparkle to the evening, capturing joyful memories. Outside, a petting zoo brought smiles and laughter to kids and adults alike.

Earlier in the day, our youth had participated in December’s Power Up workshop, titled “Shifting from Knowing to Learning.” They explored how adopting a learner’s mindset can open doors to growth and resilience. Our young adults also joined a session on “The Essentials of Healthy Eating,” where they discovered tips for making nutritious choices, planning meals on a budget, and supporting their overall well-being.

Meanwhile, caregivers turned their monthly meeting into a holiday social, deepening their support networks while their little ones enjoyed the festivities. Our youth received thoughtfully prepared gift bags containing personal essentials, gift cards, and other surprises, ensuring they felt loved and celebrated.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible efforts of our community. We extend a heartfelt thank-you to the volunteers from Toyota Financial Services Corporation, Arizona State University, and Desert Financial Credit Union employees. Their dedication throughout the week and on the day of the event ensured that our space was beautifully decorated and welcoming for all.

We also thank our staff, mentors, caregivers, and especially our youth, who remind us of the joy and purpose that New Pathways for Youth brings. In this season of joy, we are grateful to be a part of their journey, creating memories and a safe space to grow, thrive, and celebrate.
