New Pathways for Youth is thrilled to name these four Phoenix community leaders as officers of their Board of Directors:

Chair: John C. Williams, Ricondo & Associates, Inc.

Vice Chair: Joshua Shade, U.S. Bank

Treasurer: Adaliz Gimenez, Bell Bank

Secretary: Cathy Teeter, CBRE, Inc.

“These folks are leaders in their respective professions, and they are community minded and driven to create equity and opportunities for all,” said Karen D. Johnson, Ph.D., President & CEO of New Pathways for Youth. “They are all passionate about the mission of New Pathways and are excited to lead us into the next phase of our development and growth.”

John C. Williams has over 40 years of experience in airport facilities and environmental planning. He became involved with New Pathways through his work on the Support Sky Harbor Coalition, which focuses on serving the community surrounding Sky Harbor International Airport.

As U.S. Bank’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking, Joshua Shade brings close to 20 years of finance and business experience to the Board. He has been involved with New Pathways for over five years and has worked with youth serving nonprofits for close to ten years.

Incoming Treasurer Adaliz Gimenez, Vice President and Commercial Banker at Bell Bank, brings over 20 years in banking experience to the board, specifically in growth and retention. She was named one of the Most Influential Women in Arizona Business in 2020 and dedicates countless hours volunteering with organizations inspiring young people with socioeconomic challenges, including New Pathways for Youth.

Cathy Teeter, Managing Director and Designated Broker for CBRE, has spent the last 30 years managing people and budgets. She brings a strong passion for the work of New Pathways for Youth, which she and her family have supported for close to ten years.

“It’s a true honor to lead this group of caring individuals who are committed to creating a brighter community for everyone,” said Williams, “We have an extensive list of things we’d like to accomplish, and I know with this group beside me, we will take them on with enthusiasm.”

While New Pathways for Youth has been guiding young people facing adversity in the greater Phoenix area for nearly 35 years, it is now aiming to sizably increase the number of teens served annually, thus increasing the organization’s impact on the Valley. These leaders and the Board will be tasked with guiding fundraising efforts, fiduciary oversight, community engagement, and the overall direction of the organization.
