New Pathways for Youth is committed to supporting the academic, vocational, and career success of our youth post-high school graduation. By enrolling themselves in our program, this is what our youth have asked of us, yet many don't know how to accomplish this success. They’re ready to go on this journey, and don’t have a road map. New Pathways for Youth provides our matches with a road map through one of our vital program components – eight-week projects.

Projects are short term goals that our youth create for themselves with the support of their mentor. These projects typically address one of the three areas; family/community, school, or themselves. Eight weeks of actions and expected results that our youth have committed to are outlined within the projects. Added up over time, these short-term goals bring our youth closer to their long-term goals and future successes. Projects have included getting drivers’ licenses and permits, getting first jobs, health challenges like running 5Ks, and improving grades and family relationships. In the creation of these projects and achievement of these projects, our youth develop their goal setting and decision-making skills.

These projects are integral pieces of our mentoring model. They provide the structure and support for our youth to begin to understand what it might take to fulfill on their dreams. They provide the opportunity for our youth to experience feelings of success and accomplishment. They provide a pathway of small steps that, when all added up, can lead to a future fulfilled.

Back-to-School Drive Backpack Stuffing

The next school year is just about to begin and you can help our youth have a great start! Organize donations received from Back-to-School Drive, stuff backpacks with supplies and get them ready for distribution. Great for a large group (8 – 15) of volunteers!

• Week of July 16th - Time and date flexible during center hours (M – F, 9am – 5pm)

Child Care Volunteer

Make parent transformation possible! Volunteers provide childcare to allow parents of participating youth to attend workshops and develop the skills they need to effectively support their children’s development.

Volunteers could play board games and sports, do crafts, or simply spend time with the school-aged youth. The time you volunteer in childcare allows our parents time to develop themselves! Volunteers must have a valid Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
