Transformations Society

The Transformations Society is an inspired group of friends—individuals, businesses, foundations—committed to growing the impact of New Pathways for Youth by sharing in our vision of the future.

Your moment to act is right now.

A contribution of $1,000 or more makes you a Transformations Society member, gives you access to special New Pathways for Youth events and helps to transform lives and communities.

Our goal through the transformations society is to empower 75 new youth over the next year. To do this we need 150 friends to become part of our Society. All you have to do is take that next step…

For just $2,500 a year you can sponsor a youth to receive case management support, life skill development workshops, a trained mentor, and family programming.

Wendell and Michelle are the founders and co-chairs of the Transformations Society. For them, this organization is extremely near and dear to their hearts. As board members, as a mentor, and as a supporter, they are committed because they see the impact New Pathways makes on our youth and our community.

“Michele and I know firsthand the impact that can be made by a caring adult with the needed training and support to make a difference for a youth.”

Wendell began mentoring with New Pathways more than 15 years ago. His first match was Mark. A high school student at the time, Mark only had 3.5 credits by the start of his junior year. Most of his family was in jail or prison. He knew he had to start making different choices with his life or else he would end up serving time, or worse.

As Mark and Wendell got to know one another they built a strong relationship around love and respect. Mark got a level of care and support from Wendell that he had never experienced from an adult in his life up to that time. As Mark says, “Wendell was a huge influence on me and made me want to succeed.”

Not only did Mark succeed, he graduated as valedictorian of his class.

Today Mark is 27, is a father that provides for his three kids, is finishing up an associates degree, is a home owner, and an employee with the City of Phoenix that works hard and gives back to his community.

Mark and Wendell are an incredible example of the transformations we see taking place every day at New Pathways. It’s clear from their story, it’s not only the kids who come away transformed, it’s the mentors, too.
